This week, we welcomed back our 28 students from a first St. Ninian’s High School trip to Málaga, Mrs Jiménez Asencio Sheard’s home town. After visiting the Alhambra, the Gibralfaro and the Alcazaba fortress at the beginning of their stay, students had the opportunity to do games with Spanish sports coaches on the Malagueta beach, take part in a cookery lesson where they made “salmorejo”, a cold tomato based soup but thicker than gazpacho and very typical of the province of Andalucía. On the last day they also had a guided bike tour to discover parts of Málaga that were more distant. All students received certificates from the school they attended: CLIC International House in Málaga. Students' behaviour did the school proud as it was impeccable in every context and situation. Everybody commented what lovely young people they were: host families, Spanish teachers at the school in Málaga, coach drivers, sports coaches, café owners and the general public. A very resourceful group too who bonded across year groups (Yr 8 to Yr 13).
We look forward to taking more students to Málaga next year.
