ICT [Word processing / Desktop publishing]

  • Students will learn key simple and advanced word processing techniques that can be used to produce high quality documents. The skills will be transferable across any word processing software.



Digital Application [Graphics]

  • Students will learn to use some basic tools and functions within Adobe illustrator and Adobe Photoshop to produce and manipulate images.

Students will be asked to demonstrate the skills they have developed by completing a set task in class.

SPRING

ICT [Presentations]

  • Students will consider the requirements of effective presentations. They will use Microsoft Powerpoint to develop presentations for particular audiences / purposes.


Computer Science [Hardware, Software, Binary]

  • Students will learn about Input and Output devices, how data is stored, the key components of a computer and how a network works. Students will also be introduced to binary code.

SUMMER

ICT [Spreadsheets]

  • Students will use Microsoft Excel to learn the basics of how a spreadsheets works, how to use functions and formulae, and how to present information in charts


Computer Science [Microbit]

  • Students will gain an insight into the use of the Python programming language to control the BBC MicroBit.
