This month, Year 7 took part in the Improvement Project exhibition. Mrs Parr, Miss Clucas and I were delighted to welcome the students’ family and friends into school so that they could see how hard Year 7 have been working.
At the beginning of the term, students were asked to choose a skill that they wanted to improve over 4 weeks. Each week they collected critique from family and friends and used this to help set themselves targets for the following weeks. Critique had to be kind and honest, helpful and specific.
Students chose to work on a wide variety of projects. Baking and football skills were the usual hot favourites, but this year craft projects were popular too with some fabulous examples of tie - dye, crochet and knitting, model building, origami and drawing.
I‘m sure that for anyone who came along to enjoy the students’ displays, they must left have feeling proud and encouraged by what they saw.
Well done Year 7. I can’t wait to see your creations in the Learning Relationships project next term!
