Within school, any students who feel as if they need a little support can talk to their tutor, Head of Year or the Pastoral Support Team. Students who feel they would like to talk about a particular issue in more depth may also request an appointment with Isle Listen through their tutor, Head of Year or the Pastoral Support Team.

Kooth

Kooth is an online counselling and emotional well-being platform for children and young people, accessible through mobile, tablet and desktop and free at the point of use. On Kooth you can chat to counsellors, read articles written by young people, get support from the Kooth community and write in a daily journal.

Qualified counsellors are on hand weekdays mid-day-10pm and from 6pm-10pm on weekends.

Samaritans

Manx Youth Connected

Through Manx Youth Connected (which is led by the Youth Service) young people can access information, support and guidance every night of the week between 7pm-9pm, as well as engage in chat and competitions.

Bridge the Gap

Bridge the Gap provides facilities and support for young people between the age of 14-24 who have ongoing health needs. Young people can contact the BtG team, book the BtG Pod whilst in hospital or access a BtG Entertainment Trolley for use on a ward.

Family Planning Clinic

The Family Planning Clinic is run by doctors and nurses and provides contraceptive advice and pregnancy testing. The service is free and confidential and they are happy to see young people and advise on sexual health and contraception matters.

Bullying

The NSPCC has a section explaining about bullying and cyberbullying. If you are experiencing bullying, please do tell any adult at school so it can be dealt with. At Lower School you can put a form in the SNAP box outside the Student Support Office or the Medical Room. Forms are available next to the SNAP box and the box is emptied daily.
