At St. Ninian’s we are committed to enabling all students to make well informed decisions about their future careers. Whilst participating in and enjoying academic lessons, students will develop practical and social employability skills to support their future goals and to prepare them for the world of work.

As part of our Employability and Pathways programme, we provide a range of guest speakers who will talk to students about the importance of interview skills, preparing for the world of work, life after Sixth Form, and provide general careers advice and guidance. These industry experts may also offer career-targeted workshops where students can explore aspects of employability. Throughout the programme students will be able to gain an insight into many different career areas.

Additionally, students may request a careers interview with Andrew McKinley, our Careers Advisor.

In Year 12 , all students are asked to embark on a work placement. We value this week as it allows students to develop their skills, enriches their CV and gives them a greater understanding of employment in their desired area.

Our Sixth Form tutors are experienced mentors and spent time with their tutees exploring the variety of future pathways for them. Students are encouraged to develop their CVs and given support in writing personal statements or letters of application.
