With regular attendance of over 30 girls at after school Hockey training, the motivation and enthusiasm of the girls has been infectious. We started the season with a fixture against Ramsey Grammar School fielding 5 teams - which was fantastic to see! We faced more tough opposition in our next games against Castle Rushen High School and then King William's College, and it was evident in these fixtures that the girls training was paying off, despite not being able to achieve a win for the A team. Our fixture against Ballakermeen High School was a brilliant display of the girls' talents - scoring 4 goals and playing some fantastic Hockey and working really well together as a team. Our final match against the overall league winners QEII, was another challenging game but the girls were composed and competitive and despite not being able to secure the win they have done themselves and the school proud with their determination to improve each week. We are looking forward to introducing 11 a-side Hockey to the girls in preparation for next year's Year 9 Hockey fixtures! It would be great to see more girls participating outside of school and joining a local club.
