Congratulations to the Year 8 girls who were crowned Champions at the Year 8 A Team IOM Schools' Girls' Football Tournament on Monday. A fantastic achievement and a huge well done to all the girls involved.
The girls did not lose a single match, winning 4 out of the 5 fixtures against the other island school and drawing 1.
The teamwork amongst the ladies was brilliant with everyone well and truly playing their part in the team. The attitude of the girls must be commended, with great encouragement and enthusiasm from every individual. This allowed for some tremendous saves by Amelia and great tackles and hustling for the ball by the defensive players. The midfield and wing players managed to have time and control over the ball allowing them to pick out the correct passes. The goals soon came flowing with Ava starting the proceedings with a half-pitch shot hitting the back of the net. Soon Erin was onto the score cards with lots of lovely finishes, followed by Amelie.
It was a wonderful afternoon, and all the girls should be pleased with how they represented themselves and the school.
