Having successfully fought his way through the St. Ninian’s High School eliminator, then the Isle of Man final of Microsoft Specialist, Year 10 student Adam Drummond headed off to the UK and Ireland Microsoft Specialist final, hosted at the Design Museum, London. This was an opportunity for Adam to pit himself against the very best students (aged up to 22 years old) from the 40,000 who participated from schools and colleges in England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Ireland.

Adam was required to complete a team challenge where he worked collaboratively with other students and then on an individual basis where his accuracy and speed in using Microsoft applications was assessed. He was duly crowned champion following his amazing performance and presented with a wonderful trophy plus an Xbox One for his trouble!

Further to this, Adam will now travel in July on an all expenses paid trip to Harry Potter World, Orlando, Florida where he will represent the United Kingdom and Ireland in the Microsoft Specialist World Championship. As well as the accolade and title to aim for, he will also have the chance if winning a $7,000 first prize!

Needless to say, everyone in the Computing Department is very proud of Adam’s achievement and would like to wish him all the best in bringing the world title back to the Isle of Man and St. Ninian’s High School.

Well done Adam - a great achievement!
