The school celebrated the 17th European Day of Languages on Wednesday 26th September. To mark the event, 239 teams from various tutor groups took part in a Kahoot quiz during tutorial. Scores to beat are those of: Lucas Atkinson, Lucy Barnett, Caleb Christian, John Duke, Noel Ekdahl, Megan Haskell, Harry Johns, Emily Kirk, Sinead Moore, Charlie Salmon in Year 7; Amy Gravestock, Ben Leith, Rebecca Park, Callum Taylor in Year 9; Sam Barnett, Kuba Garczynski, Hannah Lancaster, Jadwiga Niski, Francesca Roales, Cameron Stricket in Year 10; Jake Cullen, Charlotte Kenyon from Year 12; Alex Buck, Chloe Corran, Kacper Garczynski, James Gilbert, Jessica Morris in Year 13. Well done to all! Some Upper School students did a French or Spanish pop quiz during the day and some Lower school students painted pebbles with a French or Spanish message with the view of hiding those around the island or further afield, to be found. When discovered, people are encouraged to post pictures of the pebbles on the Language Stones Facebook page, with a #SNHSMFL. Many members of staff greeted their classes in a different language.
