This week the motion for debate was 'Dressing up in a costume that is not part of your ethnicity or culture is offensive.’

Once again we had some excellent speeches from the debate committee that covered a range of issues from the Jim Crow laws to dressing up as disney characters. The speakers did a very professional job at fielding some challenging questions from the floor, but in the end the motion was lost. Perhaps it has encouraged us to think a little more carefully about our choice of costumes for this year's Hop Tu Naa!
