Our students have been honoured to be involved in a project for Remembrance Sunday led by Hilary Cleverley from the Poppy Appeal. Hilary had hand written cards with the names of all 1,261 Manx soldiers killed during WWI.

During tutorial time, students were given the opportunity to research the soldier on their card and write a comment based on this question:

"If that soldier was standing in front of you now - what would you say to them?”

Students then signed their card, included their age and where they were from.

The cards have been distributed around shops in Douglas and placed on their notice boards.

This week our History Department have been leading thought provoking assemblies, specifically remembering WWI, the impact on the different groups affected by it and the sacrifice of the Manx soldiers.
