On Thursday, Year 12 A Level Politics students participated in their second Digital Surgery run by the Politics Project. This time our Skype interview was with Lord Boswell. Students spoke to Lord Boswell for an hour and in that time were able to ask him about the roles and functions of the House of Lords, the future of reform to the House of Lords, his views on lowering the voting age, tuition fees, his role on the Select Committee that is looking into the impact of Brexit on the Isle of Man and the other Crown Dependencies, as well as a typical day for a member of the House of Lords.
This was a great opportunity for students to extend their learning beyond the classroom and support the work they have covered on the roles and functions of the House of Lords in preparation for those up and coming exams!
