This year, the SNHS team won a fantastic third place in the Rotary Club’s Annual Senior Public Speaking Competition. We were up against tough competition from all six of the island’s secondary schools this year, and the standard was extremely high.
Our team consisted of Olivia Read (Year 8) as chairperson who got some fantastic individual feedback from the judges on how well she led the team and introduced our speaker; Siddharth Muthu Pandian (Year 8) our speaker, who wrote his speech entitled ‘Electric Dream’ on his thoughts surrounding the ethics of giving robots emotions which was interesting and thought-provoking; and Libby Delaney (Year 7) who offered the vote of thanks with great confidence.
Having worked hard in preparation with Mr Lowey for the last couple of months, they were professional and polished in their performance and an absolute credit to the school – well done team!
