Last week was the first meeting for the Sixth Form Debate Committee for this academic year. The committee made a very strong start with excellent speeches for and against the motion: “This house holds that university education should be free”. There were some insightful comments from the floor too. After the closing statements and vote the motion was lost (by one vote).
