Year 12 and Year 13 linguists started the term very productively, writing 600 words articles, in either French or Spanish, on a huge range of topics, as diverse as the icons that are Enrique Iglesias and Edith Piaf as well as the Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sánchez and cinema in Spain after the Franco period. The online magazine in which their articles were published, is called World Wide Napier and is a publication from the Edinburgh Napier University. Our school collaboration was promoted by ex isle of Man student Lily Kneale, who along with her team did a great job gathering and proof-reading all articles. The students’ perseverance, ability to do research and transfer the results into their own words, their very high literacy skills and cultural awareness, are a credit to them.

We were also delighted that the two Year 12 students that attend Spanish lessons with us were able to contribute too.

Look no further, THIS is your Christmas read!!
