On Thursday, Year 10 students had the opportunity to focus on some of the skills that they would have developed over the work experience week, which was cancelled this year, and to start to develop the evidence for their Record of Achievement files.
During the day they were able to access the three sessions below:
Being and Entrepreneur: Working in a team to design a product for a specific case study and then presenting the idea to an audience of about 60 people and Sixth Form judges.
Developing an impactful CV: Learning how to write an effective CV and personal statement. Reflecting on past experiences and considering what would need to be included to target their chosen career path.
Effective Communication: Looking at the positive impact and challenges of transitioning into the workplace. Considering what good communication consists of and how to adjust this depending on the audience. Exploring the role emotions play in how well we communicate.
The day was very well received by the students and our thanks go to Isle Listen, Junior Achievement and Mr Ryder-Clague, our careers co-ordinator, for facilitating such useful sessions.
