Last Wednesday, eleven Year 8 students represented St. Ninian’s at the final of the all-island Poetry Slam. This is an annual competition where groups of students write poems linked to one of the sustainable development goals, which they then perform in a ‘slam’ style.

The event is organised and hosted by the One World Centre and was a very entertaining evening.

Well done to all those who took part, especially the team who were runners-up with a performance of their poem, ‘Gone’. They are: (left to right on the photo) Lily Wicklow-Cameron, Morgan Braidwood, Jeremy Miranda and Sam Tattersall. They are pictured with the Manx Bard, Owen Atkinson and the Manx Youth Bard, Brintha Yasodaran.

Our other representatives were Ethan Skillicorn, Joshua Hollamby, Noah Campbell, Phoebe Cringle, Ava Crute, Isabella Hartley and Grace Wolstencroft.

Many thanks to Ms Gardner for her support.
