The Year 9 girls beat CHRS in the hockey final on Friday afternoon. We went into the game as the underdogs, but straight away took the lead with an early well struck goal from Molly Wheeler. Our 2nd goal was scored by Leah Prentice which took us into half time with a 2 goal lead. As predicted, Castle Rushen came out strong and our defence was tested, Poppy, Chloe and Lois stayed firm and with the help of Lili in goal fended off their attacks.

Molly intercepted a ball and did a run down the pitch taking on their players to score an excellent individual goal for our 3rd.

Castle Rushen hit back and scored their goal, but we continued to attack their D. Our 4th goal was scored by Sacha Hay where she converted a pass in front of goal. Molly scored the next goal to achieve her hat trick, again another well positioned shot in the corner of the goal and our captain, Macey Crellin who was the ‘play maker’ throughout, scored a class goal in the final seconds of the game.

It has been a pleasure to work with these lovely young ladies. They have attended practices weekly and have listened and taken onboard advice.

They all played so well on Friday and deserved the 6-1 victory.
