The Year 7 Applied Learning group have been to visit Sight Matters. During the visit students were able to experience some of the difficulties faced by people with visual impairments and were able to see the work Sight Matters does in order to support them. The group were able to see the gadget room which is where they keep and showcase everyday objects which have had adaptations made in order to be accessed by people with visual impairments. They were also able to tour the ‘freedom field’ garden area and experience the tactile and sensory elements of the space.
Thank you to Sight Matters and to ‘Zest’ the retired Guide Dog, for giving the time to educate our students about the innovative and caring work they do.
