The last football final of the season took place on Friday last week and saw St. Ninian’s Y9s taking on Ramsey Grammar School. It was Ramsey who started the brightest going 1-0 ahead in the first half, before Aaron Chadwick volleyed home a well taken equaliser just before half time. This seemed to give SNHS the push they needed and a second goal came shortly into the second half, with Callum Yates finishing well after some good work in midfield by Noah Campbell. The lively Preston Anderson then scored an excellent right-footed drive from outside the area to put the Saints in control, however, Ramsey then pulled one back with a sensational goal to make it 3-2. After some more Ramsey pressure, thankfully the game was decided by Campbell who tapped in from close range following some excellent build up play from Aaron Vincent and Jonah Kenny. Other notable mentions to captain and goal kepper Aiden Pickering who make some good saves when he was needed as well as Bo Coulter who was solid at the back.
A 4-2 win for the Y9s means that St. Ninian’s have won the football hat-trick – Y9, Y10 and Seniors!!
Well done to all for an amazing football season!
