In the Summer term our Year 8 students (now year 9) raised a staggering £457 for the IOM Anti-Cancer Association through the Core Skills Enterprise Project.

The project involves students working in groups of 4 or 5. They are loaned £30 at the start of the project and have to come up with an idea for a product that they can make and sell. They have ten weeks to do this. At the end of the project, an exhibition is held where professional people from outside school are invited to come into school to judge the students. The exhibition is two fold: students present their product and then are interviewed by the judges. The judges choose a winning team from each class who wins £30 prize money.

Special thanks to our judges Paul Wiseman, Stuart Foster, Mike Loundes, Allan Bashforth and Susan Gibson for their time and energy in supporting our students.
