All Year 8 Geography students visited the Energy From Waste Plant as part of a unit on environmental issues called “My World, My Responsibility”. They were given a tour around the plant to explain how the plant deals with the island's waste and produces electricity in a sustainable way. Other activities during the session included learning about other waste management strategies such as the 3Rs (reduce, reuse and recycle) and work on the reasons for the plant's location.
Students will be using the information they collected from the trip to help them complete their end of term assessment.
