It has been a brilliant half term of Rugby for the Year 8 Rugby team, with improving performances every week and some outstanding games throughout.
Great games against QEII on Monday saw two good victories for both the A and the B teams resulting in us qualifying for a Round Robin semi-final on Monday 11th November at Vagabonds Rugby club at 2:30pm. We will play fixtures against both Ramsey Grammar School and King William’s College to decide who goes through to the final.
The boys have finished their league fixtures now, starting with a home victory against a good Ramsey side, which gave the boys some confidence. A tough back and forth game against Castle Rushen the following week was the boys' best performance, despite losing narrowly in the second half. A very strong KWC side proved too much for our boys, but there were lots of areas the boys could improve on and it was a good learning experience for all involved. We put this learning into action against Ballakermeen the following week, with a really strong performance and a very good win.
The boys continue to train hard and are very much looking forward to Monday’s semi-finals.
