St. Ninian's High School has again played its part in remembering the fallen on Remembrance Sunday.
Onchan Remembrance Service
On Saturday all the students planted wooden poppy crosses at St Peters, then Penny Lavery and Lily Dyson both read remembrance poems. Then on Sunday, Ms. White, Deputy Head Teacher and students from Lower School joined those from Onchan Primary Schools at St. Peter's Church Garden of Remembrance. Harry Quayle and Dilara Nergiz laid the wreath om behalf of Lower School.
Douglas Remembrance Sunday Service
On Sunday our Head Students, Abigail Campbell and Adam Horsey joined Mr. Coole and also took part in the service at the Douglas War Memorial and laid a wreath on behalf of the School.
Many other St. Ninian's students took part in services as representatives of organisations including the Brownies, Scouts, St. John's Ambulance, Army Cadets, Sea Cadets and Air Cadets to name but a few.
On Monday a two minute silence was observed at 11am across both of our school sites with the Last Post being played by Elisa Gerrard in Year 10.
"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.”
