The KS3 Debate Club's first two competitive debates of 2025 ended in a double victory for St. Ninian's. We would like to thank Ballakermeen for graciously hosting us and competing wonderfully as well as providing us with refreshments.
We had a mixture of Year 7, 8 and 9 and they all did brilliantly. Ballakermeen's adjudicators and Sixth Form commented on how well St. Ninian’s behaved and how passionately they debated. We successfully convinced the adjudicators to ban Tiktok on the Isle of Man and also managed to defeat the motion from Ballakermeen that traditional homework is an essential part of homework.
Emily Slee and Sasa Mdlalose won Speaker of the Debate for their respective efforts and both did fantastically. Yosif got a special mention for his composure and etiquette that made him seem older and more practised.
