This season has been nothing short of outstanding, with over 50 students attending training sessions. The commitment and competition for places raised our standards, and the togetherness within the squad has been evident throughout. Every player who trained with us has played a part in this incredible achievement—winning the national final.
Our A team has had a phenomenal season, winning every single game without conceding a goal. Heading into the final, confidence was high, but we knew Ballakermeen would provide a strong challenge. The tone was set early, with Jacob Smith delivering an inspiring pre-match team talk that fired the squad up. That energy carried onto the pitch as we took control of the game from the outset. We kept possession well and pressed relentlessly to win the ball back quickly, with standout performances from Sam Sadler and Schofield in breaking up play. With our dominance came chances, and by halftime, we were deservedly 2-0 up.
The second half followed a similar pattern, though Ballakermeen grew into the game and posed a late threat. However, our defensive discipline, tactical awareness, and team spirit ensured we held firm to see out a 2-0 victory.
Every player delivered when it mattered most, executing their roles perfectly. A special mention to Man of the Match, Sam Sadler, who controlled the midfield, drove forward with the ball, and constantly created opportunities for the team.
We are Champions! Attention now turns to Cricket, with training continuing on Mondays, after school.
