The IOM Schools' Badminton Tournaments took place at St. Ninian's Lower School this week with the girls and boys enjoying a brilliant afternoon of competition on Tuesday and Thursday respectively.
The Senior girls' A Team (Maia Xiao and Fatima Syed) played really well, winning four out of their eight matches and the B Team (Graiagh Smith and Chloe Hampson) winning two of theirs, resulting in an overall finishing position of 3rd place. The Junior teams were also very impressive with the A Team (Esther Babatunde and Emily Cregeen) losing only to Ballakermeen and the B Team (Lilah Cretney and Erin Morgan) winning five of their eight matches, resulting in the Juniors finishing in 2nd place overall!
The Senior boys were very impressive, winning all of their games, with a particularly outstanding match against the Ballakermeen A Team, crowning the Saints Senior Champions - well done to Lok Yien Cheung, John Long, Edward Cheung and Tommy Cheng. The Juniors were all fantastic too, finishing runners up with A and B Team losses to BHS and winning the rest of their games - well done to Wai Cheung, Ethan Gibb, Harry Quayle and Zane Quinn.
Two very enjoyable afternoons, with amazing Badminton skills on display from our St. Ninian's students, well done to everyone involved.
