On Tuesday, the Island's first Interschool Masterchef Final was held at St. Ninian's lower school. The competition was for Year 10 GCSE Food and Nutrition students who had to make a dish of their choice within one hour, showcasing a range of high level skills and costing less than £5.
Carl Howarth, (Haworth's Restaurant, Queen's Promenade) was the guest judge awarding first prize, courtesy of Butler's Choice, Douglas, to Steven Craine (pictured) from St Ninian's High School for his 'profiteroles filled with Chantilly cream, served with a caramel sauce.'
Very well done to Tom Brennan from St. Ninian’s for his 'chorizo and sweet potato with mozzarella pearl stuffed ravioli served with a baby plum tomato sauce' and Sophia from QEII for her 'gluten free chocolate sponge with chocolate sauce'. Tom and Sophie were joint runners up.
A great achievement for all involved!
