St. Ninian's High School has again played its part in remembering the fallen on Remembrance Sunday and on 11th November in school.

Onchan Remembrance Service

Over the weekend a number of students from Lower School joined Miss White and Mr Dyson at the Onchan Remembrance events. On Saturday, our representatives along with pupils from Onchan and Ashley Hill schools, read poems and planted wooden crosses in the grounds of St Peter’s Church

Unfortunately, the weather was not so kind on Sunday for the Onchan Remembrance Parade and Service but our students still represented our school with pride despite the heavy rain. Summer and Michalina laid the wreath at the cenotaph on behalf of the school and Brody delivered the reading as part of the service

This year was the largest number of students we have had in attendance from St Ninian’s and we would like to thank all of those students who were involved on one or both occasions.

Douglas Remembrance Sunday Service

On Sunday our Head Students, Conall Malloy and Lindi Nyoni joined Ms. Strickettto take part in the parade and service at the Douglas War Memorial where they laid a wreath on behalf of the School. Many other St. Ninian's students took part in services as representatives of organisations including the Brownies, Scouts, St. John's Ambulance, Army Cadets, Sea Cadets and Air Cadets to name but a few.

On Tuesday 11th November a two minute silence was observed at 11am across both of our school sites with the Last Post being played by Elisa Gerrard in Year 10 and Will Gerrard in Year 9.

"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn

At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them."
