A huge congratulations to our fantastic St. Ninian's High School swimmers who competed at the Lancashire County Swimming Championships in Manchester this weekend — a brilliant start to the long-course racing season.

With extremely tough entry standards required just to qualify, reaching this level already represents a huge achievement and reflects the swimmers’ dedication, commitment, and love for the sport.

Across the first weekend of competition, our swimmers delivered an outstanding set of performances, achieving numerous long-course personal bests, qualifying for multiple finals, and bringing home an impressive collection of county medals.

Huge Highlights included:

Oscar Maddrell age group (14 years) claiming multiple gold medals, including a huge victory in the 800m freestyle, setting a new Junior Manx Long Course Record, and winning the 400m freestyle.

Jamie Farnan age group (16 year) securing bronze medals in both the 200m Individual Medley and 50m backstroke, alongside several strong final appearances.

Eli Birchenough age group (14 years) Ed Pearson age group (15 years) and Jacob Wright age group (12 years) all producing significant personal bests and qualifying for finals across sprint and middle-distance events.

Hailey Henrico age group (13 years) delivering excellent performances across freestyle, butterfly, and individual medley events, including strong final finishes and long-course personal bests.

Thomas McEvoy age group (age 13) Dylan Larrosa age group (age 17 and over) and Charley Bevan age group (age 15) achieving impressive personal improvements at county level a fantastic achievement on such a competitive stage at all age’s levels.

The excitement continues, with the second round of the Lancashire Championships taking place in two weeks, and we look forward to cheering all our swimmers on once again as they continue an excellent season.
