Despite the long day yesterday, it was another early start with breakfast at 7:30am. There were certainly plenty of bleary eyes around the dining hall, but after grabbing some breakfast and collecting our packed lunches, everyone was ready to board the coaches for another busy day. Our first stop was Liverpool John Moores University, where Dave, Rob and their brilliant team of student ambassadors gave us a warm welcome. An informative presentation, followed by a tour of the city campus, provided a fantastic introduction to university life in the heart of Liverpool. From there, it was just a short walk to the University of Liverpool, where Becky, Joelle and another superb team of ambassadors were waiting to greet us. Students enjoyed an engaging talk about living and studying in Liverpool before heading out on a campus tour, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions and gain first-hand insight into student life. Our final visit of the day took us to Liverpool Hope University. Following another informative presentation and a tour of the beautiful campus, our students left with a real appreciation of what life is like at this close-knit university in the south of the city. To round off a packed day, we made a trip to the Trafford Centre for a little retail therapy. The chance to browse the shops, grab some food and enjoy a bit of downtime was welcomed by everyone after a busy schedule of university visits. We then headed back to Edge Hill University in time to settle down and watch Spain take on France in the World Cup semi-final. With plenty of tired eyes beginning to show, it wasn't long before students headed off for an early night, ready for another exciting day as we venture into Yorkshire tomorrow. But perhaps the biggest question on everyone's mind is this: will England do it? It's coming home, it's coming home, football's coming home!
