The Senior Boys Rugby team played their first game of the season last week, taking on a mixed RGS team in a friendly.
The St. Ninian's boys put in an excellent performance, particularly as a defensive unit. They frustrated the RGS attack throughout the first half and went into the break just 3–0 down, with the hosts scoring a penalty right on half-time.
RGS introduced some of their more experienced players after the break, and the game eventually finished 30–0. Despite the final scoreline, there were plenty of positives for St Ninian’s to take from the game, with the boys showing excellent effort, determination and defensive organisation.
The team will now look forward to their first Tier 2 league fixture next week, when they take on CRHS 2nds.
