Today Year 12 A level Politics students were able to extend their learning beyond the classroom thanks to The Politics Project’s Digital Surgeries. SNHS students were able to chat live with Councillor Eve Holt, a member of the Greater Manchester City Council, about her role as a councillor and member of the Labour party together with a number of other areas, including how best to represent her constituents, the role of women in politics, how politicians can and should reach out to a younger audience, and the role of city mayors. In return students discussed the Manx political system, voting at 16 years old and their suggestions for how to appeal to young voters.
Many thanks to Ms Crisford and the Social Science Department for arranging this.
