On Thursday we welcomed Year 6 students and parents from all our primary schools to our Lower School site for our Year 6 Welcome Evening. This very much kicks off the formal induction process and all the Year 6 students and their parents were able to look around the superb facilities and rooms we have at our Lower School, meet the different subject teachers in their classrooms, experience the different subjects they will learn in secondary school and talk with our current students about life at St. Ninian’s. The evening was incredibly well attended and we were also very pleased to welcome some students and parents from Scoill yn Jubilee for the first time.

The next phase of our induction process will be the Primary School Roadshows which see Mr Cretney, our Head of Year 7, and senior staff visit each of the primary schools and give a presentation to the parents on making preparations for the transition to secondary school. These start next week, details of which can be found below. Throughout the remainder of the year there will then be a comprehensive induction/transition programme which will see primary schools being visited by our different subject staff to work with the Year 6 students and our Year 6 students being invited to the Lower School site to take part in activities here.

These events ensure that all our new Y6 students feel they are already part of our school and are excited and empowered to do their best as they embark on the next phase of their learning.
