The annual Isle of Man Sports Awards will take place at the Villa Marina on 4th April 2019 and we would like to wish all our current and former students who have been nominated the very best of luck!

In the Under 21 Sportswoman of the Year Award - Nan Williams, Amelia Sharpe and Charlotte Clarke have been nominated.

In the Under 21 Sportsman of the Year Award - Nino Ontoy has been nominated also.

In the Disability Sportsperson of the Year Award - Letisha Ellis has been nominated.

Nan Williams is currently in our Sixth Form and has been nominated for netball. She is a member the Welsh U21 Long Squad, plays her club netball for Thompson Travel Netball Club and is an 'honorary' Manx Ram training partner. Nan also represents the school and helped guide our school team to the senior final last week.

Amelia Sharpe is also currently in our Sixth Form and has been nominated for cycling. She is the reigning British Junior National Road Race Champion and is a member of the British Cycling Junior Academy Development Squad.

Charlotte Clarke is currently in Year 9 and has been nominated for tennis. Charlotte plays her club tennis for Albany Tennis Club in Douglas and last year reached the final of a National Championship tournament at Wimbledon.

Nino Ontoy is currently in Year 8 and has been nominated for taekwondo. Nino recently has had major success in the British Taekwondo National Poomsae Championships where he claimed six titles!

Letisha Ellis is currently in Year 9 and has been nominated for swimming. Last year Letisha represented Great Britain in the European Deaf Swimming Championships in Poland> She also broke no fewer than five British Age Group deaf records in the 13 years age group at the Utmost Wealth Solutions Isle of Man Swimming Championships.

We would also like to wish the very best of luck to our former students, Elizabeth Holden (cycling) and Rachel Franklyn (athletics) who have been nominated for senior Sportswoman of the Year.
