A huge well done to Ellen Lewin and Sophie Macdonald for a very successful cake sale today in aid of the police cadets, who are planning a trek across the Pyrenees Mountain Range next summer. They will be following The Freedom Trail, a route many people took during World War II to escape Hitler and the Nazis. On the trip there will be the opportunity to remember a military bomber plane which crashed into the slope of Lampaou Peak in the mountains. All 7 crew members died, including a young Manx man called R.T Furley who was the flight engineer.
A successful cake sale today!
