On Friday 20th May, four Year 8 students made a special visit back to the Energy from Waste Plant on Richmond Hill as a reward trip. Ava Mcllwaine, Lauren Haxby, Siddharth Muthu-Pandian and Tali Lanin returned back to the plant with Mr MacGregor (Head of Geography). All Year 8 students had to design a leaflet as an assessment to show how the plant worked and how it fits into the wider world of energy generation and resource management. The four winning leaflets received a prize in their tutor groups and were shown 'behind the scenes' to areas such as the top of the plant and the turbine hall. They were then allowed to operate the crane with the massive grabber. All four asked great questions and enjoyed their short visit.
Many thanks to Jon from the Energy from Waste Plant for showing the students around.
