On Sunday 26th January, Y13 students Emily and Gabriel participated in the Holocaust Memorial Service 2020 by delivering a reading and lighting a candle to remember the millions of people murdered in the Holocaust, under Nazi persecution, and in the genocides which followed in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.

The service also marked the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz concentration and extermination camp. It was one of 10,000 events taking place to mark the day around the UK.

This week, students across all year groups have also had assemblies to explain the importance of remembering the Holocaust, to know more about the past, develop empathy for others and commit to taking action to create a better future.
