On Monday 13th March, due to winning the Rotary Annual Senior Public Speaking last year, we hosted this year’s competition.
Our fabulous team were Morgan Braidwood, the chairperson, whose job it is to introduce the main speaker and their speech, and draw proceedings to a close at the end, and Phoebe Cringle, our speaker.
Phoebe’s idea for her speech ‘Touchdowns or Tutus?’ came from her observation that PE and Games are split by gender and wondering why this is the case. She spoke for seven minutes about the topic, eloquently and with just the right amount of humour, putting forward arguments from both sides and considering the world of not just school, but professional sports.
Both Phoebe and Morgan spoke extremely well and we are proud to say that they placed second in the competition. Well done team!
