On Wednesday, our Year 12 Junior Achievement companies competed in the final of the JA Company of the Year Competition 2023 at the Palace Hotel.

St. Ninian’s were represented by seven student companies this year, with all competing to be crowned Student Company of the Year.

All groups have embraced the challenge that the Company Programme presents. They have launched their new businesses, developed new products and brands. At the competition, the students were judged in four categories: a presentation, two interviews and a business report. This year’s groups performed incredibly well, giving entertaining presentations; with one presentation even involving a celebrity cameo via video clip.

Our students’ ideas were really well developed and included: An app (available in the Apple App Store) for people who have reading difficulties, a card game for children and their families about healthy eating and a water filter to remove the impurities in water for countries which don’t have access to clean water.

Two of our Year 12 students also made the final shortlists for the individual leadership award, with Hudson from Mindcore and Ashton from Magnitude being interviewed at JA Headquarters last week.

We now look forward to the Awards Dinner at the Villa Marina next Wednesday evening to find out the results of the judging panel.

Congratulations to all of our teams. You have done yourselves and St. Ninian’s proud.
