For World Book Day this year, we had a variety of activities. At 11 a.m., teachers paused their lessons to discuss their favourite books or give students time to read. Some teachers also engaged students in a literary quiz to see which books they had already read.

During lessons, there was a "Design Your Own Book Cover" competition, organized by Ms. Ashton's Year 10 class. The entries will be voted on later this week, and with so many submissions, the competition is fierce.

At break and lunchtime, all KS3 students had the chance to take part in a competition to guess which teacher’s bookshelf belonged to whom. The winners will be announced later this week. We had an incredible 189 entries from a mix of teams and individuals, all eager to claim the prize.

Overall, student engagement was fantastic, and they fully embraced the activities. A huge thank you to all the staff members who submitted pictures of their bookshelves and to everyone in the English department for keeping motivation high throughout the day.

Many thanks,

Mr Casella
