The St. Ninian’s Girls’ Football Team were crowned overall winners of the tournament, showing incredible teamwork and determination across all matches. They kicked off with a 1-0 victory over QEII, followed by another 1-0 win against CRHS. The team then secured another 1-0 win over BHS, and in their final match, they sealed a 2-0 victory over RGS. Grace and Amelia were the key goal scorers, each finding the back of the net at crucial moments to keep the team ahead.
Every player contributed to the victory, with fantastic sharing of positions, particularly in goal, ensuring the team always had a keeper. The girls showed excellent teamwork, versatility, and spirit throughout the tournament. Layla put in a shift as a striker and hit the post a couple of times, Lacey had bundles of energy and made sure she was always in a great passing position. Aoife and Katelyn were solid defenders making sure they kept the Saints' clean sheet. A massive well done to Neveah, Lilley, and Gemma who continuously rotated positions and versatility ensured they enhanced the teams’ strengths and talents. Their performance was a well-deserved win, and they can be incredibly proud of their achievement as the overall champions!
