The Year 7 boys finished their season with an all-day Cricket Festival at King William’s on Wednesday. All the boys were great on the day, showing how much they have learned and developed throughout the season.
All of the island's secondary schools were involved, and the shortened 6 over festival format meant that all balls counted, creating lots of exciting matches.
There were mixed results for St. Ninian’s, with some narrow wins and close defeats, but all boys showed skills whether batting, bowling or fielding, and they very much impressed throughout the day.
Evan Cooke picked up the St. Ninian’s player of the tournament with 2 man of the match votes for his accurate bowling and high scoring with the bat. All boys picked up some information sheets about how to join the local cricket clubs and it would be brilliant to see some boys giving it a go after a very successful first season of cricket.
