You guessed it—another early start, with breakfast at 7:30am and a few more bleary eyes than yesterday. By now, the toaster and coffee machine are our closest allies. We hopped onto the coach for an 8:45am departure, and for many, the journey was the perfect excuse to catch a few extra winks.

Our first stop of the day was Huddersfield, where we were greeted by Natasha and her team. Students were taken on an in-depth tour of the campus, followed by a talk with student ambassadors who shared a genuine and insightful look at life in Huddersfield. A really engaging and informative start to the day.

Next, we made our way to Leeds—our first stop: Leeds Beckett University, where we were met by the ever-energetic Ian and his team of ambassadors. Their enthusiasm was infectious, and the talk was truly inspiring. The tour gave students a great sense of life on the Headingley Campus—and possibly inspired a few new ambitions along the way!

A short five-minute coach ride later, we arrived at the University of Leeds, where we met Rob, Joe and the team. Our group split into two: one half took on a campus tour while the other enjoyed an excellent talk on the benefits of Higher Education and life in Leeds. Both groups came away impressed and a little more informed about what the future might hold.

After a packed schedule, we departed Leeds at 5:15pm and arrived back at Edge Hill just in time for a BBQ put on by the ever-thoughtful Niamh. It was thoroughly enjoyed by all—and by that point, very much needed!

The evening continued with our annual Quiz Night in one of the lecture theatres, where students went head-to-head with staff across four challenging (and occasionally ridiculous) rounds. The winners? Well, after a little controversy, the staff were beaten into second place by team ‘Paramount’—who took home the grand prize: a bar of chocolate and unlimited bragging rights. Some students were less than impressed, pointing out the slight imbalance between their teams of 5–6 (with one slightly in excess of this) versus the staff’s "elite" team of 7. Objections were noted. Appeals denied.

And yes—you know what came next. Gym sessions for the committed, and yet another round of ultimate frisbee for the rest. By 10:30pm, everyone was ready for lights out, bellies full, brains buzzing, and legs slightly sore.

Day Four awaits—and we’re ready for it (after coffee, obviously).
