Day Two began with a familiar sight: tired eyes and quiet yawns as we made our way to breakfast for 7:30am. Yes, it turns out that time does exist—and yes, it’s still a bit too early for most. With coffee (and bagels) in hand, we prepped for the day ahead with a talk from Edge Hill on ‘Why Higher Education?’ before our 9:15am coach departure.

Our first destination: Liverpool—home to three universities, lots of history, and more city-centre roadworks than Google Maps knew what to do with.

We started with a visit to Liverpool John Moores University, where Dave and his team gave us a true taste of city-campus life. With the university spread across Liverpool, students got to see what studying in the heart of a buzzing city really looks like. The ambassadors were honest, relatable, and full of great insights—though several students did look mildly horrified at the thought of a 9am lecture across town.

Next up was the University of Liverpool, where we were warmly welcomed by Becky and her team. After a great tour of the extensive campus and a brilliant talk with student ambassadors about uni life, our students left feeling inspired—and maybe a little envious of the on-campus coffee shops.

Our final Liverpool stop was Liverpool Hope University. Though smaller than its city counterparts, the charm was real. Lauren and her team offered a warm welcome, engaging talks with student ambassadors, and a tour across their split-site campus. Several students noted the friendly, close-knit vibe—while others quietly appreciated the chance to sit down again.

Then it was time for some well-earned retail therapy at the Trafford Centre. The ladies hit the shops with serious intent, while the lads made a beeline for JD Sports like it was an Olympic event. Everyone regrouped in the food hall for dinner—burgers, noodles, and maybe a few too many bubble teas—before boarding the coach back to Edge Hill.

Despite the long day, there was still enough energy left for more gym time as well as some downtime with a stroll around the campus.

By 10:30pm, it was lights out—again—with another action-packed day behind us and an early start ahead. Day Three—we’re ready for you!
