Day Four arrived... and yes, so did the 7:30am breakfast. At this point, even the toast looked tired. With an ever-growing collection of sleepy faces, we boarded the coach and set off for Sheffield—our final university day of the week.

We arrived at Sheffield Hallam Universitybang on 11:00am, where we were welcomed by Abi, James and their brilliant team. Students were split into two groups; one taken on a campus tour, led by the ever-informative student ambassadors and the other listening to the student advocate, Mikey, about student life in Sheffield. The groups then switched over and the morning was packed with helpful insights and plenty to think about.

From there, it was just a short hop across town to The University of Sheffield, where we met David and his team of student ambassadors, which included our own, former Head Student, Adam Drummond. After the presentation from David, we divided into three groups and toured the impressive campus—which, fun fact, boasts the last working Panatosta lift in the UK (a niche claim to fame, but an excellent icebreaker at parties).

After a full day of exploring, there was only one thing that could recharge the group: retail therapy. So off to Meadowhall we went, where smiles quickly returned. The ladies and gents set off to shop with purpose, strategy, and a surprisingly good sense of direction. Shopping bags in hand (and maybe a few too many bubble teas later), we grabbed dinner in the food court before hopping back on the coach for the journey back to Edge Hill.

Despite a long day, the routine didn’t change—many of the lads headed to the gymto flex those well-travelled muscles, while the rest took part in the final round of ultimate frisbee, football and basketball near the accommodation. By the end, even the frisbee looked like it wanted a nap.

With bags starting to be packed and the 10:30pm curfew in place, all headed to bed early, ready for the journey home tomorrow.

It’s been a busy, brilliant, and unforgettable week. One more day to go—but wow, what a time we’ve had so far!
