The Year 7 Rugby team travelled to King William’s College on Wednesday for a challenging fixture against a strong Under 12 side. The match started positively for SNHS, with both teams trading early tries. Captain Seb Dosser led from the front with powerful running, while winger Kaiden Lynch impressed with some sharp footwork, scoring a well earned try in the corner to level the game at one try apiece by the end of the first quarter.

As the game progressed, KWC began to assert dominance, especially at the breakdown. Their physicality in the tackle and presence of a few powerful ball carriers made things difficult for SNHS, who struggled to maintain momentum. Although heads dipped briefly during the middle stages of the match, the boys showed great character to rally in the final quarter, finishing strongly with improved tackling and renewed energy.

In addition to school fixtures, many of the boys have been putting in extra effort outside of school. Several players took part in the Island Club Rugby Festival at Douglas Rugby Club, where they showcased their growing skills and enthusiasm for the sport. A new Under 12 team is now forming at Douglas, offering a fantastic opportunity for players to continue developing. Training is starting on Sunday 9th November (2pm-3:15pm every week), and all boys are welcome to join!
