The Year 10 Girls' Cricket Team delivered a fantastic performance to win a thrillingly close final, defeating QEII by just five runs.
The match was finely balanced throughout, with our girls holding a narrow 241–240 lead after both sides had completed half of their innings. Every run and wicket proved crucial as the contest remained on a knife edge.
In the second half, QEII scored 76 runs for the loss of just one wicket, leaving our girls with a challenging target in the final batting phase. The team showed outstanding determination, teamwork, and composure under pressure. There was some excellent batting throughout the innings, culminating in a dramatic finish as captain Amelia Griffiths struck a six from the final ball to seal the victory.
The girls finished as 321–316 winners, securing the game by just five runs. It was an outstanding team performance, with every player making a valuable contribution to a memorable victory. Throughout the match, the team displayed excellent sportsmanship, resilience, and confidence, making it a final to remember. Congratulations to the entire squad on a thoroughly deserved triumph!
