A tough afternoon for the St Ninian’s boys as they came up against a strong Castle Rushen side, who started the game extremely well.
Castle Rushen showed disciplined rugby from the outset, attacking every ruck with purpose and putting St Ninian’s under pressure early on. The Saints gradually grew into the game and began to find their rhythm.
A fantastic breakaway try from Seb D gave St Ninian’s a much-needed boost, with Castle Rushen taking a 25–5 lead into half-time.
The second half was a much more competitive affair, with St Ninian’s showing real determination and putting in some excellent tackles. The fightback was impressive, but unfortunately it was not quite enough, with the final score finishing Castle Rushen 35–15 St Ninian’s.
⭐ Man of the Match: Seb D ⭐
Despite the result, the commitment and determination shown by the team were outstanding. There were some excellent individual performances, while our new additions to the squad also impressed, showing great promise for the games ahead.
There are plenty of positives to take forward as the season continues.
Well done, boys! #UpTheSaints
