We are thrilled to announce that Year 12 student, Hannah Midghall, has been accepted onto the ManSat Space Programme in the Summer of 2019, which will take place in Houston, Texas. The initial process saw Hannah shortlisted after a successful essay on Why I am interested in space; What should be the focus of space exploration in the next thirty years and Should humans return to the Moon before going to Mars?, which impressed the judges on island. The next step in the process involved submitting a CV and a new 2000 word essay, along with a Skype interview with the experts based in Houston. Hannah was informed two weeks after the final Skype interview that she was successful and would join the two week long programme this coming Summer, whereby she will be based at the Space School in Houston, with many other successful students from around the world. Hannah was delighted to be accepted onto the programme and said that the process was long, arduous and rigorous, but ultimately challenged her thinking into space exploration and the many laws and stringent procedures required to delve into the study and investigation of space.

We wish Hannah well in her venture and look forward to seeing how the programme unfolds in the Summer.

A massive well done from all at St. Ninian’s High School!
